Last night, it was reported that Jay Z and Justin Timberlake would be canceling their Florida tour dates in a show of solidarity with Stevie Wonder. It was even quoted that JT spoke up on the matter how why he would not participate. Artists would be canceling their shows in Florida due to the recent controversial George Zimmerman trial. Zimmerman pleaded not guilty in regards to killing 17 year old Trayvon Martin because of “Stand Your Ground” laws in Florida. He was acquitted of all charges and walked out as a free man. Since the case, many celebrities have voiced their opinions and recently Beyonce and Jay-z were out protesting/showing awareness (quietly) with the teen’s parents. Supposedly, there was a list of artists that were joining Stevie Wonder yet some artists have come forth to deny their participation while some have yet to respond. A Florida rep went on a local talk show to already bash both Jay-z and Justin Timberlake for their actions before checking for the facts. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart went on a local talk radio show to call JT and Jay-Z “silly and foolish” as well as people who “hobnob with the regime,” a dart aimed right at Jay Z’s for his recent visit to Cuba. So where did this list come from and who made it up? Here’s what’s been going around the WEB!
IN RESPONSE AND DUE TO THE STAND YOUR GROUND LAW ON THE BOOKS IN FLORIDA! ALONG WITH THE GREAT STEVIE WONDER, THE FOLLOWING ACTS HAVE CANCELED (ALL) OF THEIR UP-N-COMING CONCERT DATES, IN AND AROUND FLORIDA, INDEFINITELY!!! OR UNTIL THE LAW IN FLORIDA IS ABOLISHED.
