Mike D’Antoni Resigns

Well it’s no secret if you’re a Laker fan how frustrating it is to watch your beloved team struggle so much. After Kobe’s injury, many blamed Laker coach Mike D’Antoni for allowing Kobe to play so many minutes at his age. The frustration continued this season when the Laker’s didn’t even make the playoffs. What will happen with the Lakers next season? Well one thing is for sure, Mike D’Antoni won’t be there to find out.

“Given the circumstances, I don’t know that anybody could have done a better job than Mike did the past two seasons,” Mitch Kupchak said in a statement. “On behalf of the Lakers, we thank Mike for the work ethic, professionalism and positive attitude that he brought to the team every day. We wish him the best of luck.”

Sponsors End Relationship With Los Angeles Clippers

Things just keep worse for the Los Angeles Clippers. After losing in Game four to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, the Los Angeles team also lost big sponsorships due to the allegations of owner Donald Sterling’s recent comments about race that went viral this past Friday.

CarMax, an automobile company released a statement to the Huffington Post.

“CarMax finds the statements attributed to the Clippers’ owner completely unacceptable. These views directly conflict with CarMax’s culture of respect for all individuals,” a CarMax spokeswoman wrote in an email to HuffPost. “While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for 9 years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship.”

State Farm Insurance proceeded to do the same yet mentioned they would still work with point guard Chris Paul.

Los Angeles Clippers Owner Not Fond of Black People

 

Just because a man may own a sports team that has 90 percent of black people playing for him doesn’t mean he associates with them. It just means he likes making money. At least that’s what we’ve learned about Donald Sterling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. Recently, TMZ broke the news that Sterling told his girlfriend Stiviano, who is mixed with Black and Mexican, that it bothers him greatly that she promotes herself hanging out with black people. And went further into interrogating her motives of what benefits come out of associating with black people.

Nick Young’s home burglarized during Lakers Game

Nick Young, who is a basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, came home Sunday night after scoring big for the LA team only to find his home was broken into. 

According to reports by Young, almost 100,000 worth of items were stolen from the home including an expensive pair of Nike Air Yeezy’s.

“I walked in and saw drawers open, clothes all over the floor. I know I didn’t leave my place like that,” Young told Los Angeles Time. “Then I looked at the window and it was broken. Glass all over the floor. That’s when I knew someone had gotten in there.”

Young believed the attack was planned and that the burglars most likely knew nobody would be home during the time of invasion due to Young being present at the Lakers game.

KOBE BRYANT PASSES THE TORCH TO THE YOUNGER PLAYERS

5 time champion Kobe Bryant, who has been selected 15 times to play in the All Star game is more than likely not going to be able to compete this year. Los Angeles favorite Laker has suffered multiple injuries in the past but none of this magnitude. After pushing his team to make the playoffs last season, Kobe Bryant who is known for his signature moves, tore his Achilles after one he’s done plenty of times to plenty of people. While missing the first 19 games this season, fans were left in bewilderment wondering how their beloved athlete would perform for his team. After only six games, Bryant averaged 13.8 points, 6.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 5.7 turnovers while shooting 42.5 percent from the field. Yet took another heavy blow by fracturing his lateral tibial plateau against the Memphis Grizzlies.

With so much going on in Bryant’s career, it hasn’t stopped his loyal fans from voting for him to start in this year’s NBA All-Star Game. Bryant, according to NBA All Star balloting, is the leading pick in the Western Conference category with 723,031 votes. Though the black mamba is not one to ever back down from a challenge, Bryant suggested that fans vote for Portland superstar Damian Lillard instead of him for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game. Bryant suggests to fans that the younger guys are more than qualified to participate in this years All-Star game. Question is will the fans trade in their votes? (Probably not.)
