Tina DeCara is an amazing singer with such a humbled heart and spirit. Check out her interview below. May 2013
When did you first get into singing?
I can remember when I was about three years old I
would run around my house with a straw and just sing
and sing, but I got serious with my career around age 13.
Who discovered your talent?
I was discovered by my label Tazmania Records a few
months before my fifteenth birthday, and we recorded
my first single “Count On Me.”
You have such a cute style! Do you have a stylist or
do you pick out all your outfits?
Thank you, I pick out my own outfits, and love
going to vintage thrift shops and boutiques in
New York City with my mom.
You recently just put up a video singing “God is
an awesome God.” Would you consider yourself a
spiritual person? How does your relationship God
help you in your life?
Yes, I am a Christian and a strong believer in faith
and God. I believe that God guides me in my walk
in life and my career. I believe that because of my
faith in God I am where I am today in my career,
and I strongly believe that I could not have done it
So we know you’re single “Crazy about you,” is
out! Are you working on any new songs or an
album at the moment?
Yes, I am currently working on my next single
called “Barriers” It is a song about personal experiences
of things that I have gone through in life. I look forward to releasing this song, in the hopes that it would bring inspiration to others around the world to know that they are loved no matter what they are dealing with in there life.
If you could perform with anyone on stage today
who would it be and why?
I would love to perform with Dave Grohl. He is a
super awesome dude, and is super talented, and
has a coffee addiction just like me Ha Ha
Finish this sentence:
In 10 years from now I will be…? working with
kids that have a dream and a strong desire of
becoming a recording artist, but do not have the
financial means of supporting there career, to
guide them and support them, and let them know
that people care and that the can achieve what
they want to achieve in life, no matter who they are, what they have done, or where they come from.
Last question, what advice can you offer to other up
and coming young artists that want to get into music?
Wow this is a great question. I would say to them “
continue to follow your dreams, be true to yourself.
Surround yourself with positive people that have you
best interest at heart. Build a great team that is behind
you and supports you 100% like the team I feel I have.
Take the advice and constructive criticism of your
management team, producers, writers and record label,
it can only help you become a better artist, most of
them have been doing this longer then you, but at the
same time know that you can ask questions and ask
for clarification so that at the end of the day there is no
misunderstanding and you are all on the same page,
and that the outcome is ultimately a successful career
